Yes, both the business traveler and the approver will receive notifications during the approval period. The first one to take action (approve or reject) will determine the final outcome.

For roles that does not contain arranging nor fallback approval nor client administration there is nothing to select in pools tab. For roles that might need some configuration there will be some options and pools or business units presented.
