The Finance Law for 2024 establishes an additional tax of 200% on the tourist tax from January 1, 2024, in the Île-de-France region.
Experts, hoteliers, and other stakeholders have done their utmost to prevent this increase. Unfortunately, the decree has been validated, and hoteliers are obliged to collect these additional taxes.
This causes inconvenience for travelers who booked a rate in 2023 that does not indicate these increases. This applies to both leisure and business trips, for domestic and international travelers.
Consequently, we are facing an increase in legitimate requests and complaints. Nevertheless, legally, hoteliers are obligated to collect this municipal tax from travelers.
Therefore, Goelett recommends:
- Creating an internal information note for all your travelers
- Informing all travelers who have booked their stay in 2023 in the Parisian region to make the necessary arrangements.
We invite you to contact your Account Manager for any additional information and to assist you in implementing these various actions.
All our teams are mobilized to deal with these inconveniences.
